Biting the Bait That Hides the Hook

Carol Blackwell: Posted on Tuesday, August 07, 2018 4:03 PM

Genesis 3 gives the account of Adam and Eve, the fruit and the slick serpent. God provided plenty for His son and daughter to eat and left only one thing that they should definitely not touch. How in the world was Eve so deceived? The serpent was a smooth and convincing talker. The trap he was hiding was so lavishly baited with mouthwatering words that she didn’t see the hidden danger, the hook. There was and is death behind his words of deception.

DECEIVE: TO CAUSE SOMEONE TO BELIEVE SOMETHING THAT IS NOT TRUE, TYPICALLY IN ORDER TO GAIN SOME PERSONAL ADVANTAGE. THOROUGHLY TAKEN IN, ENSLAVED BY.

SYNONYMS: SWINDLE; DEFRAUD; CHEAT; TRICK; HOODWINK; HOAX; DUPE

Many are being deceived because there is a spirit of pride that has taken residence, and instead of submitting in humility of spirit to what the Word of God says, the attitude of arrogance rises. Has the devil detected something in you that causes him to think he can bait you and win? Do you have anything in common with him? Behind every word the enemy speaks is a hook to trap us. Every time he opens his mouth he’s lying. He is the father of lies. Deceptive words are supposed to sound like the truth, that’s why it’s called deception.

Romans 16:17-18 “I urge you brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery, they deceive the minds of naïve people.”

Be discerning. Watch for those who are babes in Christ and teach them how to recognize the enemy’s tactics to trip them up with flattery and praise.

CALLING ALL WATCHMEN: BE VIGILANT. SOME OF THE PEOPLE OF GOD ARE ABOUT TO BE CAUGHT BY THE HIDDEN HOOK.

SEND OUT THE WARNING AGAIN!

Moving Day

Carol Blackwell: Posted on Monday, December 28, 2015 6:58 PM

All of us are going through some kind of transition, whether physical or spiritual. These really are changing times, and for that reason we are encouraged to stay focused on the task at hand.

In the last stages of moving out of our house that has been a part of my life for the last 29 years, I thought it was going to be a breeze; the breeze turned into a turbulent wind! So many emotions surfaced that I didn’t know were still active. Fooled me! I love this house. It's funny how we become so attached to something, and don't realize how great the attachment is until we are about to separate from it. I love this house. Lots of history here. We are reminded from time to time not to become so attached to things of this world. It is all temporary. We are to be good stewards over it, share it, and at the same time be willing to give it up at the drop of a hat...if He says so. So, when it is time to transition from one temp dwelling to another, it should be fairly easy. SHOULD BE. Perhaps I have become a little bit too attached. However, I shall get over it! Moving on.

How many times has He said to get rid of a certain attitude, jealousy, the unnecessary sharp tongue? Let’s see…what about self-centeredness, being angry about everything but the real thing…sin, or spiritual competition (who does that!). On moving day this stuff has to get tossed. It’s a lot and it will not fit at all in the next place. If it is insisted, you may have to stay where you are…spiritually speaking.

You never know how much stuff you have until you have to bag it all up. We have had to downsize, give away some things, sold some things, stored some. God is downsizing us too. He’s cutting away things that there is no room for in the new place. You know, things that are not holy and Christ-like.

I'm packing up and getting ready to go. If it doesn’t fit in the brand new bag, it’s outta here! But we are also making sure that we pack the right things to move into our next level of anointing, as well.

The task at hand is to let go of junk that is not needed, and only carry in your spirit that which will minister, and get you into the new temporary place. We are ever changing and being transformed to look more and more like Him!

Are you prepared to let it all go at any given moment? Think about that. Moving Day is here, and we are in the last stages of moving out.

Time or Eternity, Choose

Carol Blackwell: Posted on Saturday, October 29, 2016 12:45 PM

TIME OR ETERNITY. CHOOSE

Our TIME here on this planet is temporary. TIME is finite, it has an end.

ETERNITY is where God lives. God is Eternal. Infinite. There is no end.

Because there is an end to time, we must resist any notion, dispel any preconceived idea, do away with all efforts to build monuments for our own glory and call it ABUNDANT LIFE.

For in TIME it will burn.

Whatever God sees fit to lend to you in TIME, is for your assignment to produce an ETERNAL harvest for His Glory.

There is a concern about prophets who have given themselves to be used as cash cows. There is an ETERNITY to answer to. Your time is precious and valuable. It belongs to God. There are ears waiting to hear the True Prophetic Word from the Lord…be the one who is abandoned to Christ alone.

The Abundant Life is not in material, money, or fame, power or prestige. The Abundant Life is Happiness, Peace, and Joy in the Holy Ghost. Seek ye FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS…

Matthew 6:33

Stop storing up treasures for yourselves on earth, where moths and rust destroy and thieves break in and steal. Matthew 6:19.

Use your time wisely. It is quickly coming to an end.
